Our PIP Process
The following PIP process is how we go about attempting to collect on any PIP insurance claim that you may have. Throughout the process we keep the provider or client informed via email or telephone call. You will likely never deal with a paralegal in our office, all communication will be handled by an attorney.

HIPAA Business Agreement
The very first step in the PIP collection process would be for all parties to sign a HIPAA compliant business agreement that will allow the provider to give us access to their patient information. This information will be strictly used for PIP claim representation only.

PIP Claims Review
Our office will come to your provider location and pick up files that haven’t been paid or underpaid. Prior to pickup of the files we will provide you with a checklist of documents to include with each patient record. Furthermore our office can do complete file review for any old files that may not have been paid correctly. These processes are offered free of charge to the medical provider.

File Review and Demand Letter Submission
Upon review of the PIP files we will decide which files we believe are good files to pursue a PIP claim on. We will then draft a demand letter, using our office letterhead but on behalf of the client, to give the insurance company time to pay the claim. The insurance company has 30 days to respond to our demand letter.

Payment or Lawsuit Filed
Upon the expiration of the 30 day period the insurance company has a few options; mail a check for the amount owed including interest and postage or the insurance provider can reject the claim and provide a basis for claim rejection. In cases where the insurance company rejects the claim and provides a reason or ignores the demand letter we will file a lawsuit on your behalf.
